New Year, New Look: City Condo Design Tips
Welcome to a New Year of Fresh Ideas!
Design Connection, Inc. recently gave our client’s second home a beautiful makeover. This Country Club Plaza condo, built 20 years ago, was showing its age. Design Connection, Inc. refreshed the space with a neutral color palette and a design concept that emphasized stylish comfort with touches of femininity.
Living Room
Our client wanted a versatile space where her family could gather comfortably. This sectional in warm tones provides ample seating, with pillows in a rich mink tone and textured herringbone pattern.
Design Tip: We created this multi-purpose seating area, which is perfect for informal entertaining! The table height adjusts for high-boy cocktails, games and dining. The floral chair cushions add a feminine note.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, we painted the cabinetry in a rich mocha with matte gold hardware. The pendant lighting in a matte gold finish make this space bright and inviting.
Design Tip: The kitchen bar stools feature the same herringbone pattern used for the living room pillows, creating a cohesive design flow through the condo.
Dining Room
Our client wanted a formal dining space with seating for eight. Design Connection, Inc, selected spa green chairs in a faux mohair fabric. The chairs bring a sense of elegance and serenity to the room.
Design Tip: We added wall sconces in a matte gold finish to accent and amplify the light of the chandelier. New lighting is one of the most effective ways to update a space!
Powder Room and Master Bath
Design Tip: Design Connection, Inc. loves the texture and interest of wallpaper! Large-scale and bold patterns are treatments that work especially well in small powder rooms. We painted the cabinetry to match the same rich mocha of the kitchen cabinets. The existing sconces were updated with custom-made shades to complete the look.
The master bath cabinets were originally brown with chrome hardware. We refreshed them with off-white paint and matte gold hardware, and updated the sconces with custom-made lampshades.
Master Bedroom
The concept for the master bedroom is elegant and sleek, but also feminine. We coordinated the fabric headboard and bench in a subtle, small-scale herringbone, echoing the fabric used in the living room and kitchen.
These gorgeous linen embroidered pillows introduce a sophisticated floral element to the bedroom.
Guest Bedroom
Who wouldn’t want to stay in this guest bedroom! This peaceful space in the neutral palette features a textured headboard with antique brass nail head trim. The end tables in a mink finish accentuate the matte gold lamps.
