Summer has arrived and the children are out of school and many of us are going to be taking vacations. I have had many calls this month for kitchen remodeling. In the Kansas City area, remodeling is very big. A lot of my clients have decided to stay in their homes. They have looked at moving and decided to stay in the homes they are living in. They have noticed that the homes in their area are not selling for what they had a year ago. They now want to make the changes they had talked about for many years.

Our clients are also now refinishing the old cabinets instead of purchasing new ones. They are putting in new appliances, countertops, and backsplash. They may be taking down old wallpaper and faux painting or just painting. We are assisting them with new drapery or window treatments and new table and chairs. We can help our client’s figure what would be the most effective way to go. I myself will be changing out a worn cook top for a new gas style. I have found that the glass does wear out after a few years with lots of use.

Small changes can make a huge difference and sometimes it can be done with a fresh coat of paint and a few new ideas.
